Ethiopia Adnan Natural Special Prep Espresso is a rare and meticulously crafted single-origin coffee designed for those who appreciate superior quality. This exclusive special prep lot is sourced from a select group of smallholder farmers who deliver near-perfect coffee cherries—90% ideally ripened, with only a minimal percentage of overripe or semi-ripe fruit. Unlike standard lots, this coffee is processed separately with extreme care, ensuring only the best cherries contribute to this exceptional batch.
Handpicked cherries undergo careful sorting and cleaning before being naturally dried on raised beds for 30 days. Shade nets are used to slow down the drying process, allowing for controlled and even drying. This results in a refined, consistent flavour profile that enhances the bean’s natural sweetness and complexity.
This coffee features 74148, an Ethiopian heirloom variety researched at the Jimma Agricultural Research Center in 1974. Selected from the ancient coffee forests of Metu Bishari, this variety was chosen for its rich flavour complexity and natural resistance to Coffee Berry Disease.
